  5. Zippidy Do Da requires Windows 3.1.  If it is installed on a Windows 3.0 
  6. system, it will not run.
  7.  
  8. This is bug fix for version 1.0.  This version corrects a bug that
  9. incorrectly builds the timezone field of the zipcode database with
  10. nulls.  If you already have installed 1.0 then you will need to erase
  11. the ZIPAREA.MDB files that you find in the directory where you installed
  12. version 1.0.  If you do not do this your database will not be rebuilt
  13. after version 1.01 has been installed.

  19. Zippidy Do Da is a shareware program for Microsoft« Windows 3.1 or greater.
  20. It is NOT FREE.  You are granted a 30 day trial period to try Zippidy Do Da,
  21. to see if it fits your needs.  If you continue to use it beyond the 30 day
  22. trial period you MUST license your copy from SMI Corporation.  If you
  23. purchased diskette(s) from a shareware vendor that contained Zippidy Do Da,
  24. you have only paid a disk duplication fee.  You must still register Zippidy Do
  25. Da from SMI Corporation.

  27. Zippidy Do Da is a utility program that allows you to look up cities by zip 
  28. code, area code, state, or city name.  We feel we have included much useful 
  29. information in this release.  However, as we continue to upgrade the program,
  30. we would be glad to hear suggestions from you about new features you would 
  31. like to see included in a future release. Thank you for using Zippidy Do Da.

  33. The first time you run Zippidy Do Da, it will need to build its database.  On
  34. an 80386 25MHz PC it will take at least 25 minutes.  You will need at least 
  35. 4.2Mb available to build the database. Once the database build has completed,
  36. you have the option of deleting the database source files.  This will free up 
  37. about 680Kb of disk space.  If for some reason (power failure, etc.) the 
  38. database build fails before it is completed you will need to do two things.

  40. 1. Erase the file ZIPAREA.MDB - this file is in the directory where you 
  41.                                 installed Zippidy Do Da.
  42. 2. Erase the ZIPDODA.INI file - this file is in the Windows directory.

  44. You can then try the build again.

  47. Files in This Release

  49. If you received Zippidy Do Da as ZIP files, you should find three .ZIP files 
  50. called ZP101A.ZIP through ZP101F.ZIP.  They will contain the following 
  51. ZIP files:

  53.              ZP101A.ZIP - 360Kb Installation disk
  54.              ZP101B.ZIP - 360Kb VB Controls disk
  55.              ZP101C.ZIP - 360Kb Database Engine disk
  56.              ZP101D.ZIP - 360Kb Database Engine disk 2
  57.              ZP101E.ZIP - 360Kb Database disk
  58.              ZP101F.ZIP - 360Kb Documentation disk

  60. If you have 360Kb diskettes unpack each of the above ZIP files to a single 
  61. blank 360Kb diskette and label them as shown above.  When you have finished you
  62. should have six diskettes.  You are now ready to install.

  64. If you have 720Kb diskettes unpack ZP101A.ZIP and ZP101B.ZIP onto a blank 720Kb
  65. diskette and label it "Installation Disk".  Then unpack ZP101C.ZIP and 
  66. ZP101D.ZIP onto a blank 720Kb diskette and label it "Database Engine Disk".  
  67. Finally unpack ZP101E.ZIP and ZP101F.ZIP onto a blank 720Kb diskette and label
  68. it "Database Disk".  When you have finished you should have three diskettes.
  69. You are now ready to install.

  71. If you have 1.44Mb diskettes unpack ZP101A.ZIP, ZP101B.ZIP, ZP101C.ZIP and 
  72. ZP101D.ZIP onto a blank 1.44Mb diskette and label it "Installation Disk".  Then
  73. unpack ZP101E.ZIP and ZP101F.ZIP onto a blank 1.44Mb diskette and label it 
  74. "Database Disk".  When you have finished you should have three diskettes.  You
  75. are now ready to install.

  77. If you have 1.2Mb diskettes unpack ZP101A.ZIP, ZP101B.ZIP and ZP101C.ZIP onto 
  78. a blank 1.2Mb diskette and label it "Installation Disk".  Then unpack 
  79. ZP101D.ZIP, ZP101E.ZIP and ZP101F.ZIP onto a blank 1.2Mb diskette and label it
  80. "Database Engine Disk 2".  When you have finished you should have two 
  81. diskettes.  You are now ready to install.

  83. If you received Zippidy Do Da as ZIP files, you should find the files listed
  84. in PACKING.LST included.  If any of the files are missing or if PACKING.LST
  85. is missing you do not have a complete package and it will not install or
  86. run.

  88. Files that end in a '$' are packed.  To copy them individually to your hard 
  89. disk, you will need to use the UNPACK.EXE program provided on the last Disk 
  90. and in your installation directory.

  95. Several files in this application are compressed.  If you don't use the 
  96. installation program or you need to copy one of the original files onto your
  97. hard disk, use the UNPACK.EXE program located in your installation directory
  98. or on the install disk.  Also depending on the source you received this 
  99. application from there may be some split files (files ending in .xx0, .xx1, 
  100. etc.).  If you need these files again you will need to reinstall.

  104. Insert your Installation Disk in drive A:  Then from the File/Run command of 
  105. either Program Manager or File Manager type:
